El Pipila was the hero of a famous battle for the town of Guanajuato during the Mexican Revolution. The Spanish troops had barricaded themselves in the town's massive stone granary and were successfully defending it against many more campesinos. They might have held out, but this guy set fire to the gates and smoked them out.
